Baseball Alberta Arizona Winter Camp

Hello everyone,

Baseball Alberta will be providing the opportunity for baseball players from all over Alberta to attend a Winter Instructional Camp in Tucson, Arizona from December 28th, 2011 to January 1st, 2012.  This is a chance for players aged 12 – 19 to get first rate instruction from professional coaches at the beautiful Kino Sports Complex.  Players will be receiving instruction and skill development during the morning and then be participating in games during the afternoon.  The Arizona Winter Camp will be an experience of a lifetime for players of all skill levels.


Must be aged 12 – 19, and can be of any skill level.  Cost of the camp is $650.00 + flight.  The cost includes hotel accommodations, food, and transportation to and from the facility.  Players must arrive by December 27th as the camp will begin on December 28th.  See more information under flights below.  Deadline to attend is October 15th, 2011.

Guest Coaches/Chaperone

Baseball Alberta is offering four (4) full scholarships for these positions.  This includes flights, accommodations, and food.  Chaperone’s will be responsible attend all camp functions, assist with on-field activities, and making sure all players are accounted for including bed checks.  There is a limit of 4 chaperones needed at this time.  Deadline to apply is September 3rd, 2011.


All athletes will be staying at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites – Tucson Airport North.  There will be 2 athletes per hotel room.


Players will be responsible for booking their own flights to and from Tucson, Arizona.  Airport pick-up and drop-off will be provided in Tucson.  Baseball Alberta will have our 4 chaperones on different flights leaving from both Edmonton and Calgary.  These flights will be posted on September 6th once the chaperones have been selected.

Rep Tryouts
The dates and times have been set for this year’s Pee Wee and Bantam Hurricanes try outs. The teams will hold work outs on Friday May 20th at 7 pm at the Grimshaw diamonds. The Bantam team will play two exhibition games the next day, 11 am vs Slave Lake and 4 pm vs Grande Prairie. We are still working on the schedule for the Pee Wee Canes but we are planning on playing two games as well. The try outs are open to all Pee Wee and Bantam aged players so please pass this on to others you think might be interested. The cost to attend the try out is $20.

Girls Baseball Day in Canada Camps

These will be one day camps with a registration cost of $10.  Instructors for these camps will include members of the Team Canada Women’s National Team.

May 6th, 2011 – hosted in St. Albert

May 14th, 2011 – hosted in Calgary

Mosquito and Pee Wee Girls Provincials

June 18th – 19th, 2011 – held at the Confederation Park Diamonds in Edmonton.  Any all-girls teams from Alberta are welcome to participate.

Bantam Girls Nationals

July 27th – 31st – held in North York, ON.  ID Camps will be scheduled throughout the Province to find girls to represent Alberta at the National Championships.

Women’s Open Division Nationals

July 27th – August 1st – held in North York, ON.  ID Camps will be scheduled throughout the Province to find girls to represent Alberta at the National Championships.
